A solitaire with nothing hidden
Every one of the fifty-two cards lies face up the instant the deal finishes. No stock, no face-down rows, no shuffle you can blame afterwards. Four free cells hold one card each while you unpick the eight columns, and the foundations fill by suit from Ace upward. Lose here and the deal was almost certainly winnable — analysis of the first million numbered games turned up only a handful with no solution at all — so the honest response to a dead position is to undo back to the branch where you went wrong.
Supermoves, counted properly
Purists will tell you FreeCell only ever moves one card, and they are right; everything else is shorthand for a sequence of single moves through the cells. This table performs that shorthand for you and computes the limit the same way the maths does, so free cells plus one, doubled for each empty column, is exactly how many cards travel at once. With all four cells open and two columns cleared, that is twenty cards in a single gesture, which is also the moment the game stops feeling like housekeeping. Undo is unlimited and costs nothing, because a puzzle with perfect information deserves to be replayed rather than reshuffled.
